Donate The Hyles-Anderson College campus is beautiful! I love walking around the lake, playing games in the Student Rec Center and gym, eating pizza in The Square, and enjoying a coffee in The Bookshelf. The campus provides a great atmosphere for spending time with friends and studying. I really enjoy campus life at Hyles-Anderson College! As a diversion from everyday class and work schedules, the Activities Department plans many on-campus and off-campus activities.

By Aaron Smith and Maeve Duggan One in ten Americans have used an online dating site or mobile dating app themselves, and many people now know someone else who uses online dating or who has found a spouse or long-term partner via online dating. General public attitudes towards online dating have become much more positive in recent years, and social networking sites are now playing a prominent role when it comes to navigating and documenting romantic relationships.
Online dating is also relatively popular among the college-educated, as well as among urban and suburban residents. Attitudes towards online dating are becoming more positive over time Even today, online dating is not universally seen as a positive activity—a significant minority of the public views online dating skeptically.
At the same time, public attitudes towards online dating have grown more positive in the last eight years: In general, online daters themselves give the experience high marks. Yet even some online daters view the process itself and the individuals they encounter on these sites somewhat negatively. People in nearly every major demographic group—old and young, men and women, urbanites and rural dwellers—are more likely to know someone who uses online dating or met a long term partner through online dating than was the case eight years ago.
And this is especially true for those at the upper end of the socio-economic spectrum: Negative experiences on online dating sites are relatively common Even as online daters have largely positive opinions of the process, many have had negative experiences using online dating. Women are much more likely than men to have experienced uncomfortable contact via online dating sites or apps: One in five online daters have asked someone to help them review their profile.
Paid dating sites, and sites for people who are seeking partners with specific characteristics are popular with relatively large numbers of online daters:

Children of church members were attending college, only to reject the faith of their parents. Jones later recalled that in , his friend William Jennings Bryan had leaned over to him at a Bible conference service in Winona Lake, Indiana , and said, “If schools and colleges do not quit teaching evolution as a fact, we are going to become a nation of atheists. Jones said that although he had been averse to naming the school after himself, his friends overcame his reluctance “with the argument that the school would be called by that name because of my connection with it, and to attempt to give it any other name would confuse the people”.
Both time and place were inauspicious. The Florida land boom had peaked in , and a hurricane in September further reduced land values. The Great Depression followed hard on its heels.

This is my simple photo journal. I like to take pictures and once a month or more, I load them onto this blog so that we can remember some of our family highlights. Our church youth were invited by another group to do this last fall and we had so much fun we decided to do it again with 2 different groups. It takes some planning to find a group that can have both their young men and women participate. I think it adds to the mystery and fun if you can find another high school area to include.
You also want to have about the same YM and YW. Carol’s group set-up at their church building with long tables and chairs and provided the “MC” and the general format of the evening. Our group was over the beverage so we did an Italian Soda Bar. The roll of the dice determined how many spots to move. With a smaller group I would just have everyone rotate one If the conversation got tough he had a back up plan.
Here is the format I liked and some sample questions that could be used.
Griffin placed two coffees and two croissants on the table. Griffin and his date caught up on how freshman year had been, the conversation tinged with awkwardness, until they reached the minute time limit. Before they parted ways, he invited her on a second date. This activity leads students through derivations of the equations associated with radiometric dating: the radioactive decay equation, the half-life equation and the age equation.
Lower levels are very literal and need time to prep, but my upper levels get a shorter prep time and often use alter-egos instead of their true personality. It makes it hysterical. I set up the room with long tables with girls on one side and boys on the other so they are facing each other. For example, if you have 18 guys and 12 girls, you will need 3 guys to be on the girl side. Here is the super basic form that I used with Spanish I to plan their answers and questions.
Random Stories – This is not fancy, but is a wonderful way to get the kids speaking. I divide the students into different groups and give them each a photograph. The photos are usually of landscapes, street scenes, etc. Students then work together to come up with stories about the picture. Each student creates a sentence, and the others need to build on it.

A Quick Way to Expand Your Professional Contacts Networking can be one of the most powerful and productive activities an individual can do to launch and manage their career. In the workplace today, we need to be known to others as well as ensure that others are aware of how we might be a resource for them. Whether student, young careerist, or seasoned professional, having a network of people you can tap into for information, advice and opportunities, while sharing your own, is paramount.
Over the past five years, speed networking has emerged as a variation of traditional business networking activities for meeting people. Speed networking is a structured and fast paced networking event allowing participants to interact with others, typically in a series of brief one-on-one information exchanges. Speed networking takes its cue from speed dating, an event where individuals are allowed a short amount of time to meet a number of prospective dates, one at a time, and then choose who they would like to provide their contact information.
Where interest is mutual, the contact leads to a date. Speed networking is the business version of speed dating. However, in speed networking events, the participants readily share contact information with each other and decide themselves who they will follow up with. This type of event can provide exposure to a lot of people in a short amount of time.
It is a way to let others know who you are and what you are looking for, whether new customers or clients, business or sales leads, or a new job or internship. Colleges and universities may offer speed networking events where employers and alumni are invited to meet students looking for internships, jobs, or mentors, or where alumni can meet each other.
Professional associations and chambers of commerce may offer speed networking opportunities at a monthly meeting or as part of an annual conference. The event leader will usually ring a bell, sound a buzzer, or blow a whistle to indicate the beginning and end of each round.
